Make your glamourous entrance

You can make your glamorous entrance through the impressive, ornate doors whilst your guests wait in the atmospheric hall. The Grand Hall is truly unique and will ensure a celebration that is unforgettable. It was built for the Harpur Trust as a school hall in ‘Free Tudor’ style and from the beginning has been considered to be a notable landmark in the town, featuring in guidebooks and on postcards.

The Hall boasts an exquisite original John Broadwood and Sons piano dating back to the 19th century. The piano is ideal for playing classical music during your celebration. The stunning showpiece organ located on the overhead balcony is another notable feature in The Grand Hall.  The Grand Hall is an ideal venue for wedding receptions and special functions and is available to hire at weekends and during the school holidays.

Why not hire our Grand Hall for other special occasions too? This striking room is ideal for engagement parties, mehndi parties, christenings, baby naming ceremonies and birthday celebrations.
Accessibility
At the Grand Hall we aim for your day to run smoothly and for all your guests to be comfortable. We can offer access to the Hall through a ground floor door and have fully accessible bathroom facilities. Guide dogs are welcome.
